The Town of Orange operates a trickling filter wastewater treatment facility originally built in the late 1980s. The treatment plant is staffed 16 hours a day 365 days a year. The Town wastewater facility will undergo a 22 million dollar upgrade starting in the late fall of 2007.

The Town currently operates the trickling filter plant that consists of:

  • Head works
  • Two primary and secondary clarifies
  • Two trickling filters
  • Chlorine for disinfection with sulfur dioxide for dechlorination
  • One anaerobic digester
  • One Somat press unit
  • Three drying beds
