[ARCHIVED] Request for Proposal - Town Attorney


The Town of Orange Virginia is soliciting Statements of Qualifications for professional legal services from practicing attorneys who are active members of the Virginia State Bar.  The position is for Town Attorney (part time) and the scope of services will include legal counsel to the Town Council, the Board of Zoning Appeals, the Planning Commission and the administrative staff providing general legal advice, preparing legal documents, serving as legal counsel in litigation and as prosecutor of the Town’s civil ordinances.  The applicant will be expected to attend the monthly regular Council meeting and other meetings as requested.

Statements of qualifications must include information relating to the applicant’s history and capability to undertake the desired scope of work.  Please include, if applicable, any specific experience relating to local government law, including zoning, personnel, Freedom of Information Act, and/or state and local procurement law. If the applicant is a law firm, please include resumes of principals and staff who would be assigned to Orange and their governmental experience. Also include other such information which may be beneficial to the Town in evaluating the proposals.  You may also include personal references of those familiar with your legal work, timeliness and accessibility. 

The position will remain open until filled, but to be assured of consideration you must have your application in the Town Office, c/o Town Manager Greg Woods, 119 Belleview Avenue, Orange, VA 22960 no later than 4:00  p.m. August 15, 2018.
